I believe travel can be a force for good. It shaped how I see the world, and it is exactly why I work on changing how we do it.
I started my career inside aviation, at KLM and Transavia, and in the Design Doing collaboration between TU Delft and KLM. I loved the industry, and I grew increasingly uncomfortable with how slowly the sustainability conversation moved inside it. So I stepped out, spent years as a strategy consultant at Elemental helping organisations like ABN AMRO, Hilti and L'Oréal turn sustainability ambitions into practice, and came back to travel with a clearer idea of what it takes.
At SkyTeam I led The Aviation Challenge as interim programme manager: 22 international airlines working together on flights that demonstrated a 19% CO2 reduction potential. It taught me that even in a fiercely competitive sector, progress is possible when you translate sustainability into what each player actually needs, and when someone keeps the coalition moving.
Since 2026 I work independently, on the transition to sustainable travel on medium and long distances within Europe. Roadmaps for clean aviation, the true price of flying, and better alternatives that make the sustainable choice the attractive one.
"The transition is not only about technology. It's about the rules underneath: what things cost, who pays, and which choice we make easy."
I know aviation and mobility from within: airlines, airports, research institutes, ministries. I speak the sector's language and know where it hesitates.
Trained as a strategic product designer (MSc, TU Delft) and innovation manager (MSc, Erasmus University). I make abstract transitions concrete, visual and buildable.
Enthusiasm is contagious, and I use that deliberately. My best work happens where interests clash and a shared next step seems unlikely.
I bring the long term into the room, also literally: through board and advisory roles, and through 2100 I trained for the supervisory boards of the future. That perspective, representing future generations at the table where decisions are made, is one I'd love to bring to more boards.
